Children’s Ministry and Building Better Moms
I am so looking forward to a new school year and a new start with our After School program and launching Building Better Moms next month.
Our After School program runs September through April and launches September 11th for kindergarten through 2nd grade and September 13th for 3rd through 5th grade. Typically, our buses drop children off from Madison and Lewis and Clark Elementary Schools, we have snack, play games, make crafts and go outside if weather permits. In the spring, we will work on our Children’s Sunday event that happens towards the end of our year. Parents will pick up their child by 5:30. We do have children outside of those schools that join us with transportation provided by a parent or guardian. This year will have a few more things that I will throw in, but I will leave that a surprise for now. I am down to my last few spots for my Tuesday group and have a few more for my Thursday group. We do ask for a $25 donation for the year to help pay for supplies and snacks. We have fantastic volunteers that are going to make this an awesome year. However, if you want to volunteer with us, please reach out to me. We do follow the Caroline County School schedule so if they are out, we are out.
Our new moms’ group, Building Better Moms, is set to launch with our first meeting on Monday, September 24th. We will meet once a month from 6-8 pm with dinner and FREEEEE childcare. Moms, did you read that? Free childcare from 6-8. This program runs throughout the school year, too, with our last meeting in May. Dues are $30 for the year. We will have guest speakers, a mission project or two, a couple of what I am calling “Mommy Field Trips”, and other things to make this a great first year. If you are a mom with a newborn up to high school aged, this group is for you. You’re not alone. And, hopefully, through this group you will make some lasting friendships. It is opened to any mom that can attend our meetings. We would love to have you.
You can stop by the office for registration forms for both or you can email me at Susan@wrightschapel.org. If you have any questions, feel free to message me or call 804.448.1251.
If you are already registered for either of these, we will be sending emails out in the coming weeks with some reminders.
It is going to be a great year!
