the Good Book…
It’s been a while since my sister and I carved out time from our busy lives to spend the entire day together, so when the opportunity presented itself to take a day trip to the Museum of the Bible in Washington D.C., we signed up. It was a great trip with several ladies from the Wright’s Chapel Women’s Connection and Charles (thanks again Charles for driving). Each floor of the museum was filled with nuggets of information, amazing relics, and [you guessed it], bibles – lots of bibles. Bibles from different time periods, in different sizes, and in different translations. And, as most of us know, the bible is still the most printed book. While my favorite exhibits were on the 3rd floor (a walkthrough of the old and new testaments of the bible), I’m so fascinated with the mystery and faith of the Shroud of the Turin.
On a scale of 1-10, I’ll rate this trip a solid 9 (a point deducted for parking constraints and my salad and water which cost $25… although it was very tasty and the café staff was amazing). It was a fun-filled day of fellowship and community, and I can’t wait until the next adventure.
At Wright’s Chapel, we’re excited to expand our outreach through online opportunities both within and outside of our community. Whether you choose to worship with us in-person or online from your home in Virginia or another state/country, we’re here to support you. Would you like to learn more about Wright’s Chapel’s Women’s Connection or other ministries here at Wright’s Chapel? Feel free to reach out to me directly via email at tonya@wrightschapel.org or by phone or text at 540-604-0038. I look forward to hearing from you.
As the school season winds down and we prepare for our summer adventures, I welcome you to invite friends or family members to attend worship service with you. How great is it to have the option to attend worship service with loved ones remotely – from virtually anywhere! Oh, and don’t forget to say hello to us via the comments section – we’d love to know that you are worshiping with us.
I look forward to supporting you in our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world – together, we can.
Blessings,
Tonya
