Nice Matters…

Tonya Trice   -

I have a confession to make… two days a week I treat myself to Starbucks.  While I feel guilty every time I hear that my Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte will cost me over five bucks, that guilt quickly dissipates after that first sip of my hot java.  My Starbucks visit is usually a workday ritual and I go to the same Fredericksburg location, but I will deviate on haircut day and swing by the Starbucks in Ashland to pay them a visit.  When I’m looking to decompress from a hectic week, I’ll pause and go inside to place my order versus waiting in line at the drive-thru.  Recently when visiting both locations, I was in awe by reading what I would call their “Nice Matters” posts (see attached).  These towers of post-it notes range from a simple “thank you” to their barista to “words of wisdom” to those who pause to read what others have expressed on a 3×3 sticky note.

*Never give up on your dreams          *When things get dark…I hope you look for the stars!          *Be strong with coffee          *I love you more that you know          *I love Starbys Baristas

*Be kind to yourself + others          *Stay open-minded forever          *I’m getting married tomorrow          *Sorry Mommy          *Cherish each day!          *Jessica is AWESOME!          *Be kind

With the elections behind us and the holidays before us, I pray that we each take time to pause, reflect and think of others… maybe even write on a sticky note or scrap piece of paper our thoughts and gratitude.  Nice really does matter.

At Wright’s Chapel, we’re excited to expand our outreach through online opportunities both within and outside of our community.  Whether you choose to worship with us in-person or online from your home in Virginia or another state/country, we’re here to support you.  Have a question about Wright’s Chapel?  Do you have an interest in learning more about the ministries at Wright’s Chapel and how you can get involved?  Feel free to reach out to me directly via email at tonya@wrightschapel.org or by phone or text at 540-604-0038.  I look forward to hearing from you.

As you continue to enjoy the remaining weeks of 2021, I welcome you to invite friends or family members to attend worship service with you.  How great is it to have the option to attend worship service with loved ones remotely – from virtually anywhere!  Oh, and don’t forget to say hello to us via the comments section – we’d love to know that you are worshiping with us.

I look forward to supporting you in our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world – together, we can.

Blessings,

Tonya
