Thanks! I got it from Cindy’s Closet!
This past Sunday I greeted a church attendee at the door. I appreciate fashion so I immediately noticed her beautiful purple shirt. As I complimented her, she shared “Thanks! I got it from Cindy’s Closet.” And my response was “I got my shirt from Cindy’s Closet too!” There is just something about donating to, and shopping at Cindy’s Closet that is magical. Maybe it’s the fact that it started from the heart of a mother who lost her daughter [Cindy] and wanted to donate her clothes to others who could use them. Or, maybe it’s the fact that it literally began in what was used as a closet within the church. Maybe, it’s volunteers that dedicate their time each week to sort and hang clothes while assisting customers’ needs. Actually, folks are treated more like family than customers. For me, it’s all of the above. Although, the complimentary Sophia’s cookie at the register is definitely a bonus!
So many of my outfits are inspired by and created with clothes from Cindy’s Closet. For folks who have never experienced a shopping spree at Cindy’s Closet, I’m always excited to “paint a picture” of what a shopping adventure at Cindy’s Closet entails. First, they welcome donations, so feel free to bring in a bag or two of clothes you no longer plan to wear. Then, browse the store for incredible finds. Not sure if it will fit? There are dressing rooms so you can try them on. Not sure where to start? No worries, Renee has already determined your size, style and has picked out 3 or more items for you to try on – yes, she’s that good! Gloria, Doris, Sharon, Katie, Ron, and Sophia are always ready to assist as well. It’s a fun experience so bring your friends, your kids, your neighbor, my neighbor…
