Mission Week

My first summer youth mission trip was in 9th grade. We went to West Virginia to work on homes with Appalachia Service Project. I have been on a mission trip almost every summer since then both as a participant as a leader. Almost 30 years of mission trips! This summer will be different. This will be the first summer in a long time where I will not be able to lead a trip. I know it’s for the best but I will still miss it.

Because of this reality we started thinking about what alternatives do we have because we still want to be in service to God and our community. So Charles, Susan, and I began brainstorming ideas. Out of that came Mission Week! The week of June 29th through July 3rd we will focus on serving our community. Below you will see that we set up some opportunities locally that you can sign up for (not all require pre registration). We are limited by numbers so it’s important to sign up in advance. But you’ll also see some ideas of things you can do on your own. We also encourage you to be creative and find ways to serve your neighbors and community. Then we encourage you to share your stories of service with us. This will be a great time for the church to make a huge difference in our community!
