Back in full swing!

Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church   -

Things are back in full swing with school starting a month ago, Afterschool started last week, WC Kids small groups started this week, and this coming Monday night we kick off Building Better Moms for the year, not to mention all the other awesome things happening here.  The end of summer/beginning of fall is always a busy one around here.

We still have a few spots available on Tuesdays for Kindergarten through 2nd graders and on Thursdays for 3rd through 5th graders in Afterschool.   This is a free program. If your child attends LCES or MES, they have transportation from the schools. If your child attends another school, you will need to provide transportation.  We have snack, play, and do crafts. This year we are throwing in a little bit of our Sunday School curriculum. We are going to reinforce that story and memory verse we heard on Sunday and do some sort of fun activity to go along with it.

The thing that I love about Orange curriculum is they really want our volunteers to connect with your children.  They also want YOU to connect with your child(ren). You play such an important role in the spiritual growth of your child.  They do this in many ways, one of which is the monthly newsletter. You can read September’s Newsletter and sign up for the next one by clicking HERE.  There is an app, Parent Cue, by reThink group that you might find helpful as you navigate the different phases with your children. If you attend church here, this goes along with Charles’ last sermon series.  This is a little video introduction to Parent Cue.

Monday, we kick off our second year of Building Better Moms.  This is a group that was started at the Church of the Resurrection where they have several groups just throughout their campuses. We are 1 of about 15 other churches throughout the country that offer this program to our moms. That is pretty amazing!  Last year, I was lucky enough to attend conference at COR and meet with some of the national leaders and share all of the amazing things that we hope to do with ours.. If you are raising a child newborn through high school, we are the group for you. We meet for dinner, fellowship, guest speakers, missions, and moms’ night outs to just mention a few.  We still have a limited number of spots left for this year. Dues for moms are $30 for the year and FREE childcare during our meetings.

It’s going to be a great year and I hope you will join us.  If you are interested in more information about either of these programs, feel free to message or email me at Susan@wrightschapel.org.
