Haiti

Wright's Chapel United Methodist Church   -

Haiti has been on my mind a lot the last few weeks. As many of you know we have been taking trips as a church the last few years to Les Cayes, Haiti. We have committed to a long term relationship with a group that is building a home for girls with disabilities. The last few weeks I have been working on plans for our next trip. Our next trip will be June 23-29, 2018. We will again be traveling with Praying Pelican Missions to Les Cayes to help build the girls’ home. There will also be other ministry opportunities for those that can’t do construction work. The trip is open to youth and adults and youth in middle school must travel with a parent. We have a meeting this Sunday the 10th, after the 11:00 service for all of those interested. If you can’t make the meeting just get in contact with me. You can also check out the video below of our last trip.
The girls home now has walls!
Even if you can’t travel with us to Haiti there are still many opportunities for you to be involved in the mission. You can donate financially towards the trip or help us out with one of our fundraisers. The first fundraiser is the BBQ Blast on September 23rd starting at 11:00am. This is a skeet shoot and BBQ open to all abilities. Join us for the fun and be on the look out for additional fundraisers leading up to the trip.
Also as I write this our friends in Haiti are preparing for Hurricane Irma. I am Facebook friends with many of the Haitians we serve with. I have been following their posts and prayers as they brace for another storm. Please join with them in prayer for all of those in the path of the storm.
